When I started my fair fashion journey I was quite unhappy with the fact that I own so much clothes from fast fashion brands, but then I had quite an insight…To make these items the most sustainable that they can be it´s important to get good use out of them. Which means: Wear them! And wear them often!
Making items more sustainable by wearing them regularly is also the main focus of the 30 Wears Project by Livia Firth. At least 30 times you have to wear an item to make it sustainable, did you know that fact? I didn´t! And I think it´s such a good starting point for anyone who is new to sustainable and fair fashion. Why? Because there is not much knowledge acquired or the restriction to only shop at sustainable brands. It´s all about good choices when you are shopping. Buy only items you know you gonna wear at least 30 times. And it´s all about wearing the clothes you already own over and over again…
What about the clothes you own? Take a look inside your wardrobe and pick out pieces you have worn at least 30 times. Are there much? Or none at all? A few?
I did that myself and I have quite a selection of items I have worn 30 times or more, which I´m really happy about 🙂 I picked out two that I want to show you now:
THE DENIM JACKET
This denim jacket was my last purchase before I decided to shop mostly at fair fashion brands. It´s from Forever 21 and the quality is actually really good. It´s perfect to throw on for cooler summer days, or in the evening when you need a second layer..Since the day I got it, I worn it many, many times and I can see me wearing this beauty for seasons to come.
THE STRIPED T-SHIRT
A striped shirt is an essential piece for me! This one has just the most perfect cut and is so versatile. That´s why I´ve worn this little number A LOT, I think about 60 times. Both items are included in my capsule for summer 🙂
What is your most worn piece? Leave me a comment down below…
I wish you the best day ever!
